If so, it\u2019s nothing a little cleaning won\u2019t fix!<\/span><\/p>\n Proper cleaning can extend the life and enhance the productivity of your scale printer. For the above mentioned issues, you\u2019re likely dealing with a dirty printhead.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n So let\u2019s tackle that first.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Remember! Make sure to <\/span>always <\/b>switch off the power and unplug your device before cleaning! <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div> For scale printers, residue from label adhesive gradually builds up over time. Specifically, on the printhead.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n To best remove this, use some of the following items:<\/span><\/p>\n Cleaning pens are a nifty tool for cleaning printheads. This includes:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Failing to clean these sections can also result in print issues.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Allow all parts of the printer to dry before loading labels back into the scale.<\/span><\/p>\n Remember, there could be potential complications if your printer isn\u2019t cleaned regularly. So what\u2019s \u201cregular\u201d for scale printers?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n At least once a week. Or sooner if your printer sees a lot of use.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Once the interior of your printer is cleaned, don\u2019t forget to pay some attention to the exterior as well.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div> Yes, the exterior of your scale printer matters, too. Removing dirt or debris along the scale, screen, or buttons avoids inaccurate readings or performance issues.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n To clean the scale, use some of the following:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Avoid using harmful chemicals that could contaminate food products.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n To start, carefully wipe down the scale. One way to avoid a service call for this issue is to level your scale.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n To see if your scale is level, check the level indicator.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The level indicator will look like a bubble surrounded by 2 circles, one large and one small. It\u2019s found either on the front of the printer or under the scale platter.<\/span><\/p>\n For the scale printer to be level, the bubble needs to be centered inside the small, inner circle. If any part of the bubble is outside of this circle, the scale is <\/span>not <\/b>level.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n To level your scale:\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Once the bubble is completely centered inside the level indicator, you\u2019re set!<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div> Besides cleaning and leveling your printer, you can\u2019t forget about the scale labels.
